Coop Updates

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

Community Room                                  Garbage

As of June of 2001

The community room will be available for rentals. The room will be available on Saturdays between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 8:00 PM to SHAREHOLDERS ONLY!

Some other changes have been made for the rentals of the community room.

1) No alcohol or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises.

2) There will be a $100 deposit and a $100 rental fee for the use of the community room. The deposit will be returned after the room has been restored to the original condition (i.e. mopped and all garbage thrown out.)

3) Only those cleaning will be allowed to be in the community room after 8:00 PM.

4) No guests will be permitted to roam or party outside of the community room.

5) Any infraction of the aforementioned rules may and will result in some or all of the deposit to be kept by Townsend Coop.

All requests for rentals must be made through the corresponding "Zone Manager" with the board's approval. All dates will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.

Helping Ourselves

In order to help ourselves combat the rodent problem in our Co-op, we need to follow a few steps.

1) Please be sure to put garbage inside the cans. If all of the cans are full, please notify the super or your zone manager. Below is an example of what we are talking about. Notice the the first picture of the garbage thrown beside the cans and not in them. In the second picture, note that there are at least three cans that are empty.

2) Please be sure to have your garbage in bags securely closed if you do have to leave your trash by the cans. Do not leave loose garbage by the cans.

3) Do not leave your trash in the hallways, outside your doors, or anywhere else in the buildings.

This will not cure the rodent problem, but it will keep it very much under control. Thank you for your cooperation.
